Microcosm is a DJ/producer originally hailing from Manchester UK, now based in Donegal, Ireland.

Actively involved in the Manchester Jungle/Drum and Bass scene since the late 90s, Microcosm has worked with some of Manchester’s most respected artists. Aliases and collaborations include Snap Shot, North Base, Prophecy and DJ Fusion. Alongside Manchester legend DJ Mark XTC Snap Shot released music on Manchesters NB Audio and worked with some of Manchesters most respected artists including Chimpo and MC Tonn Piper.

As one of the founding members of Manchester production collective North Base, Microcosm released music on New State Music, Relentless Records, Case Load Records and Sleep Less Records. He remixed Ms Dynamite and Labrinth (Neva Soft – North Base Remix) SL2 (DJs take control – North Base remix) and also worked with Manchester MC collective the Virus Syndicate. In 2012 North Base were runners up in the best breakthrough producer category at the Drum and Bass Awards and as a member of North Base Microcosm DJ-ed at some of the U.Ks biggest Festivals and Clubs including Parklife, Creamfields, Global Gathering, Fantasia, Metropolis, Ram & Playaz at Fabric and Shogun Audio at Cable.

Under the alias DJ Fusion, Microcosm is also known for co-founding Prophecy alongside THC back in 1999. After a number of tracks received regular play from the likes of Nicky Blackmarket, Mickey Finn and Ray Keith, Prophecy released records on Bad Attitude, New Vibe and Sophonic recordings. This lead to DJ-ing on Radio 1XTRA and at various Drum and Bass nights in the UK and Germany including legendary raves like One Nation, Metropolis, Compulsion at Bowlers, Viagra Fools, Spellbound, Squiggle De Mash and Breakz in Germany. Other projects include producing original music and sound design for the Tai Chi and Shaolin KungFu Show 2007 (UK Tour) and recording and producing the album Buddhism Music For Qigong Practice (recorded at Dashan Temple, Nanyue Mountain, China).

Further to the above, Microcosm has also recently released a track on newly formed E&B Recordings alongside old partner in crime Ikee B AKA Neurotix. Having disappeared to the hills of Donegal Ireland to hone his craft, expect a slew of quality music to come your way soon. Watch this space!
